A Severe Extreme Cold Warning is currently in effect for all of Middle Tennessee, including Maury County, until noon CST Tuesday. Keeping this in mind, let’s look at the present weather conditions in Maury County as of 1:50 PM: the temperature is a freezing 19.6°F, with wind speeds reaching up to 11.2 mph, and the skies are mainly clear. There has been no precipitation recorded.

Throughout today, Maury County reached a high near 20.1°F and is expected to drop to a low of 7°F tonight. Winds will decrease slightly to speeds of up to 6.2 mph. The sky will transition from overcast to partly cloudy as the evening progresses.

Additionally, a Minor Cold Weather Advisory remains active until 6 PM CST today due to very cold wind chills dipping as low as 2 below zero. As we move into the night, the Extreme Cold Warning predicts dangerously low wind chills that could reach as low as 11 below zero. These harsh conditions could lead to frostbite and hypothermia if proper precautions are not taken.

Residents are urged to stay indoors if possible and ensure adequate heating and insulation in their homes. Dress warmly in layers and limit exposure to the extreme cold. Maintain close observation of children and elderly individuals, and remember to provide shelter for outdoor pets in these severe weather conditions.
