A Minor Cold Weather Advisory is currently in effect for Maury County from midnight Friday until noon on Monday with predictions of very cold wind chills down to 5 below zero expected this weekend. As of 4:40 AM, the weather is overcast with a temperature of 26.6°F and winds are light at 3 mph. No precipitation has been recorded.
Today, temperatures are expected to peak at 34°F while dropping to a low of 18.3°F tonight. Winds could gust up to 13.5 mph, but the chance of precipitation remains low at around 7% today and decreasing slightly to 5% tonight. The sky will continue to be mostly overcast.
Residents are urged to take precautions against the extreme cold as the very cold wind chills can lead to hypothermia. Locals should dress warmly in layers and limit outdoor activities, especially during the early morning hours when the temperature is expected to be lowest.
