Martha Rai Cothran Sharp, 86, retired cook for the Rebel Grill, and resident of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at Mt. Pleasant Health and Rehab.
Born January 10, 1938 in Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Willie N. Cothran Sr., and the late Gladys Pearl Roberts Cothran.
Mrs. Sharp was a member of the Baptist Church.
She is survived by her sisters, Helen Bell of Alabama, Linda Rhodes of New Johnsonville, TN, and Velda Filson of Columbia, TN; brother, Jeffrey Cothran of Mt. Pleasant; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Sharp; brothers, Willie Cothran Jr., James Lewis Cothran Sr., Robert Cothran, Neal Cothran, Johnny Walker Cothran; and sisters, Mildred Kelley, Joyce Ann Craig, Mary Cothran, and Betty Dyer.
A graveside service will be conducted Sunday, July 28, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. at Cross Bridges Cemetery with Joe Rhodes officiating. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com.
Her nephews will serve as pallbearers.
