For the ninth consecutive year, breast cancer survivor Cherri Clark of Summertown held a Pinktober event to raise funds for the Maury Regional Health Care Foundation Breast Center Fund.

The event held on October 25 included a walk and fundraising breakfast, preceded by sales of t-shirts and baked goods, to honor local survivors and raise funds to assist women facing breast cancer. This year’s event raised more than $4,000 and brought the nine-year total to $27,200.

“The Maury Regional Health Care Foundation ensures that donations go directly to help local survivors through their journey,” said Clark. “It’s been an honor for me to be able to pay it forward and help our local survivor sisters, ensuring no one fights alone.”

The Foundation’s Breast Center Fund provides comfort supplies, such as wigs, various headpieces, camisoles and lymphedema garments, educational resources and programs that improve the quality of care for patients. The fund ensures women in the community receive personalized care and support during their health care journey.

“As a 10-year survivor, Cherri is committed to helping others by increasing awareness and providing support to those facing a difficult diagnosis,” said Foundation Executive Director Rita Thompson. “We are deeply grateful for her commitment to helping others through the Breast Center Fund of the Foundation.”
