Christine Rosemary Faith Mims, age 85, passed away surrounded by family Monday, May 31, 2021, at her home in Columbia, TN. She was born June 14, 1935, in Norfolk, England to the late Herbert Page and Ivy Simons.
Christine by all accounts was a Joy to be around. She was truly a loving and caring person who enjoyed helping others whenever she could. She was heavily involved in her church Grace Nazarene. She always brought laughter and smiles wherever she went, and sometimes she would indulge mischievous side and pull innocent pranks. She worked for many years as a waitress and would also put on crafting classes teaching others to create porcelain dolls and other neat crafts. She was very much an artist and worked on innumerable art projects throughout her life. Christine was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, and friend. She is deeply loved and will be dearly missed by all that knew her.
Christine is survived by her husband: Gerald Mims; children: Nigel (Anne) Smith, Margaret Smith, Johnell (Janice) Smith, Heather (Clay) Whitaker, Gary Smith, Gerald (Tracy) Mims, Jr., and Geraldine (Scott) Bobo; 15 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren; and 1 brother: Brian Page. Christine is preceded in death by her daughter: Shainy Smith; brother: Norman Page; and sisters: Olive Aho and Joan Bell.
The family will visit with friends Wednesday, June 2, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, June 3, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. with Bro. Jason Caddy officiating. Entombment will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
Pallbearers will be: Will Mims, Jeremy Whitaker, Jonathan Whitaker, Joseph Whitaker Rob Hendrix, and Liam Kelly.
Honorary Pallbearers are: David Beard, Dean Morris, Neil Lown, Jack Auville, Billy Sargent, and Grace Church Joy Group.
