The City of Columbia is pleased to recognize Hanna Miller as the November Employee of the Month.
Hanna is the Community Risk Reduction Officer for Columbia Fire & Rescue and has been with the City of Columbia for 2 years. Hanna works endlessly on different types of Public Education events for Fire & Rescue whether initiated by this department or requested by outside individuals, schools, churches, civic organizations, or businesses. From smoke alarm installations, Touch-a-Truck events, Citizen Academy, Explorer Program, Survive to Arrive Campaign in schools to Chili cook-offs, she does these with a great attitude, a servant’s heart, and always has a bright smile.
She most recently hosted a Fire Safety Day in Firefighters Park for children. She constructed a playhouse complete with smoke alarms that taught the children to plan their escape. She also had a mini obstacle course where the children donned firefighter gear and learned how firefighters train.
Besides handling the Community Risk Reduction Events, Hanna also serves as the author of Columbia Fire & Rescue’s social media platforms. She spends countless hours preparing content for releases. Hanna plays a vital role in the Columbia Fire & Rescue Department, and the City is proud to have her as a member of the team.
