The City of Columbia announces the appointment of Interim Fire Chief Chris Cummins as the new full-time Chief of Columbia Fire & Rescue effective September 3, 2024.

Chief Cummins brings over three decades of distinguished service with Columbia Fire & Rescue, including a substantial period as a volunteer firefighter in both Maury and Lawrence Counties. His extensive experience and unwavering commitment to public safety have already made a notable impact during his tenure as Interim Chief.

In his new role, Chief Cummins will oversee all facets of Columbia Fire & Rescue, including emergency response operations, training programs, and community outreach initiatives. His leadership will continue to ensure the safety and well-being of residents and visitors.
