Assistant Chief Jeremy Haywood awarded Officer Caleb Rubert with Columbia Police Department’s Officer of the Month April 2024.
On April 24th, 2024, Ofc. Rubert stopped a vehicle displaying a suspended registration.
This vehicle was occupied with a driver and two passengers. During Ofc. Rubert initial contact with the driver the smell of marijuana was detected. A probable cause search of the vehicle was performed. As a result of searching the vehicle, two separate handguns were discovered in the possession of the two passengers along with one of the passengers having possession of a large quantity of methamphetamine.
Due to Ofc. Rubert proactive approach to policing and his investigative tactics, Ofc. Rubert was able to remove narcotics and guns off the streets of Columbia.
Because of his efforts, Ofc. Caleb Rubert has been named the Columbia Police Department’s Officer of the Month for April 2024!
