Captain Jason Dark awarded Officer Austin Sanders with the Columbia Police Department’s Officer of the Month for January 2023.
On January 26, 2023, Officer Sanders responded to a call for service in reference to legal advice needed. While gathering information, he determined a robbery had occurred earlier in the night. After a thorough follow up Ofc. Sanders was able to locate the two offenders involved and discover that they had active warrants from other agencies. Both offenders were taken into custody and additionally charged with robbery of a person.
