Maury County has many fun happenings for kids and adults celebrating Halloween. There is everything from creating art to running to sipping wine, as well as the traditional candy hunt and haunted horrors. Below is a sampler list of several of these events.

1Halloween Theme Painting Sessions

Have a great time creating a Halloween-themed piece of art with friends or family, and make it a party by bringing drinks and snacks! No creative or artistic skills needed, as their professional artist teacher will show you how to paint while you are having fun! During the months of September and October Painting with a Twist will be offering group classes that will be painting everything from bats to pumpkins to skeletons. 2Creepy Hollow Haunted Woods

Cost: $30 per person, $2 discount for groups of 15 or more

Journey down the winding, dimly lit Trails of Terror, visit the Halls of Horror, and take a chance on the Zombie Maze. This is three Halloween activities in one location.  Visitors will come face-to-face with their greatest fears.  Monsters might be lurking around the old abandoned school bus, ghosts haunt the foggy cemetery where crumbling headstones cast shadows, and a fortune teller gives dire warnings before stepping into a maze filled with zombies – an activity sure to terrify even the bravest soul!  It is open every Friday and Saturday night until Halloween, plus Halloween night. There will be a bonfire and concessions are available.

3Pumpkin Hunt

Sponsored by Maury County Parks and Recreation, anyone can participate in the 2023 Pumpkin Hunt by following the clues hidden around Maury County Park. Follow the clues and then submit the final clue for a chance to win your own pumpkin and spooky treats! There are a series of clues that will be hidden around the park beginning October 1. The first clue will be provided here once the hunt begins. Additional clues must be found physically in the park. The first clue will send you to the second, and the second to the third and so on. Take a photo of the final clue and submit it to be entered into the giveaway! Three winners will be drawn from qualifying entries. The Pumpkin Hunt is estimated to that between one and one and a half hours. Questions and final clue answers must be emailed to Elizabeth McClain at [email protected]. Happy Pumpkin Hunting!

Enjoy Running? Walking? Drinking Wine? Then this race is for you! On Saturday, October 28, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. Amber Falls Winery will be the home for an exciting Halloween-themed event that features the amazing scenery and landscape of Amber Falls Winery & Cellars! You might want to enter for the swag bag, which includes a super soft t-shirt; a shatterproof, collapsible wine glass to take on the go; a finisher metal that doubles as a bottle opener, and a complimentary 16ounce can of WineTeaZer a fruit, wine and tea blend produced by the winery. Mount Joy Cumberland Presbyterian Church is excited to host Trunk or Treat again this year. They hope to see everyone dressed as their favorite character join them for fun and food. They will be providing a meal of hot dogs and chips. There will also be fun trunk decorations, candy, and lawn games. “We would love to fellowship with you and your family,” they said on their Facebook page.

7Haunting in the District

Sponsored by the Maury County Visitors Bureau, Haunting in the District is a free trick-or-treating event in downtown Columbia for kids 12 and under. There will be lots of candy, a petting zoo, kid’s zone and more.
