The City of Columbia announces Liz Bermudez as December Employee of the Month! Liz has been with the City for 17 years and serves as Executive Assistant to the City Manager. Liz is always willing to help with projects, without having to be asked. She played a vital role in helping put the finishing touches on the new Columbia Welcome Center. Liz took on several tasks to make sure the execution of the Welcome Center was superb. She is excellent at multitasking, focusing on completing every task, always ahead of time and better than expected.
One really important task was coordinating the catering for the grand opening. Liz offered to take care of everything. As promised, she had all the details worked out in a matter of hours! She’s thorough, so she’s always thinking ahead and always thinking about those small details that make a big difference. By taking on so many of the tasks needed to complete the Welcome Center to have it ready for grand opening, Liz helped us save money by doing the tasks herself.
Liz is organized and she is the cornerstone of City Hall. She knows everyone, she’s always friendly and professional when dealing with citizens who stop by or call with a question, Liz has the answer…if she doesn’t she will gladly find it for you. The City is grateful to work so closely with Liz and is lucky to have such a dedicated employee.
