COLUMBIA, Tenn. — The COVID vaccine clinic offered by Maury Regional Health relocated to Maury Regional Medical Center effective Monday, November 8. The clinic – which had been housed in the Maury Regional Medical Plaza since February – is now located inside the hospital near the main lobby.
COVID vaccinations are available in the hospital’s outpatient pharmacy on a walk-in basis to individuals age 12 and older. Clinic hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. No appointment is necessary.
Those seeking primary series vaccination or a booster should park in the hospital’s main parking area and use the hospital’s main entrance. Staff members and volunteers will be available to direct individuals to the vaccine area. Masks are required in all Maury Regional Health facilities. It is recommended that those who have received at least one vaccine dose bring the vaccination card provided to them at the time of their initial vaccination for documentation purposes.
Maury Regional Health began offering COVID vaccines to the public in January 2021 and opened a dedicated vaccine clinic in February. To date, the health system has administered more than 45,000 vaccine doses.
There are three vaccines approved for use in the United States. Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna and Janssen/Johnson & Johnson. The vaccine clinic at Maury Regional Medical Center will offer all three vaccines as supplies are available.
In addition to primary series vaccines, boosters are available to those who are eligible. Those who received the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines can receive a booster shot at least six months after their second dose if they are 65 and older or are 18 and older with an underlying medical condition, work in a setting that increases the risk for COVID exposure/transmission or live in a high-risk for long-term care setting. Individuals who received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine can get a booster shot at least two months after the initial vaccine.
Pediatric vaccines for children ages 5-11 will not be available in the hospital clinic; however, Maury Regional Health plans to make pediatric vaccines available in another setting at a future date. Details will be announced once finalized.
Vaccinations for children and adults are also available at most county health departments and retail pharmacies. Find other vaccine locations at vaccines.gov
