The Predators Return to Bridgestone This Week
The Nashville Predators return home after a two-game road trip that took them to Manitoba and Minnesota. Despite a stronger offensive showing in their game against the Winnipeg Jets in previous games this season, the Preds were not able to get a win on Saturday.
Something must have clicked overnight, though, because the team arrived in Minnesota with a clear hunger to win. The Preds defeated the Wild 5-2 on Sunday night, in a game that saw goaltender Connor Ingram make his NHL debut.
It was a special night for Ingram, who tweeted “9 months to the day that I stepped away and went into the NHLPA program for help I played my first game. Amazing the things that happen when you put your mental health first. #LetsTalk” He stopped 33 of 35 shots against the Wild, ending their four game win streak.
The Predators will host the San Jose Sharks on Tuesday night at Bridgestone Arena, and finish the week with another home game on Saturday afternoon against the New York Islanders. If you’re itching to go see a game, now is the time! The team hits the road for the majority of November.
The Titans Aim to Continue Win Streak
Ever since their Week 4 loss to the New York Jets, the Tennessee Titans have been on fire. Heading into Week 5 with a 3-2 record, they have since managed to upset the Bills and crush the Chiefs in Nissan Stadium. The Bills lost to the Titans by a mere three points, but this past Sunday, three points is all that the Chiefs managed to get on the board.
The reigning superbowl Champions came in from Kansas City with a 3-3 record and a struggling QB in Mahomes. The Titan’s defense quickly took advantage of their weaknesses, tallying three forced turnovers and four sacks in the game. The offense also did their part too- scoring on every possession they had in the first half of the game. The final score was 27-3.
The Titans were plagued with some injuries this past week, most notably missing Left Tackle Taylor Lewan. The good news from this week thus far is that Head Coach Mike Vrabel has confirmed Lewan has practiced since being carted off the field during Sunday’s warmups. This week the Tennessee Titans (5-2) travel to face the AFC South rival Indianapolis Colts (3-4) in a rematch of the Titans’ Week 3 victory in Nashville. Kickoff at Lucas Oil Stadium (capacity 63,000) is scheduled for 1 p.m. EDT/noon CDT on Sunday, Oct. 31. Lewan is expected to play in Week 8’s matchup against the Indianapolis Colts.
