The Nashville International Airport welcomed a record 26.7 million passengers during the 2026 fiscal year, marking a 7.7% increase over the previous year.
The Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority says record growth comes as construction continues under the airport’s $3 billion New Horizon expansion program. During the fiscal year, BNA opened the Concourse D extension, adding five gates, new restaurants, retail shops, artwork, a moving walkway and an outdoor observation terrace.
Construction also began on a new six-story rental car facility and parking garage, while demolition started on Concourse A, which is being rebuilt with 16 gates and is scheduled to open in 2028. The airport also launched renovations to expand terminal entrances and improve passenger flow.
BNA set a single-day passenger record on Oct. 5, 2025, when more than 116,000 travelers passed through the terminal. It also reached a record 115 nonstop destinations in June, the most in its history.
The airport earned national recognition during the fiscal year, including a top-10 ranking among large North American airports in J.D. Power’s 2025 customer satisfaction survey and its third consecutive USA TODAY 10Best award as the nation’s best airport for shopping.
The airport added Porter Airlines as a new carrier during the year, introducing nonstop service to Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport and expanding international travel options.
MNAA also celebrated the John C. Tune Airport as it reported record activity, with nearly 18,600 jet operations and 3.8 million gallons of fuel dispensed during the fiscal year.
