Older adults in Columbia will have new opportunities to stay active in the new year as the Parks & Recreation Department introduces two fitness classes designed with comfort, confidence, and accessibility in mind. The new offerings focus on low-impact movement and are welcoming to all, especially seniors looking for safe and enjoyable ways to exercise.

Low Impact Zumba will be held Tuesdays from 10:15 to 11 a.m., featuring music-driven routines with easy-to-follow movements that are gentle on the joints.

Chair Yoga is scheduled for Thursdays from 10:15 to 11 a.m. and uses a chair for support while focusing on flexibility, core strength, balance, and relaxation.

Both classes are designed to help participants keep moving at their own pace while supporting overall wellness.
