Alvin Lynn Walker, age 57, passed away on February 22, 2026. Born on November 12, 1968, Alvin was the son of the late Henry Grady Walker and Flossie Bell Williams Walker.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Danny Walker and Marilyn Whitehead.
Alvin could be best described by three words: soldier, welder, fabricator. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, retiring as a Master Sergeant after 30 years of faithful and dedicated service. He was a dual-status technician, supporting both his fellow soldiers and his nation with steadfast commitment. During his military career, he was deployed to Kuwait during Operation Enduring Freedom.
Alvin’s skill and work ethic were evident in everything he did. When he was not serving or working, he could often be fabricating off-road vehicles and turning raw metal into something powerful and purposeful.
Alvin leaves behind his children, Tyler Walker, Justin Walker, Malerie Walker, and John Henry Walker; his siblings, Isaac Walker, Mary Walker, and Tressie (Robert) Clifft; along with many extended family members and friends.
Visitation honoring Alvin will be held on Monday, March 2nd, at McDonald Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Burial services with funeral honors will be held on Tuesday, March 3rd at 10:00 a.m. at Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, where Alvin will be laid to rest beside fellow veterans.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to McDonald Funeral Home to help offset expenses.
McDonald Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Walker family.
