Annie Lou Edmiston, age 90, passed away Saturday, November 19, 2022 at Magnolia Health and Rehab in Columbia, Tennessee.

Annie was born September 8, 1932 in Centerville, TN to the late Earl David McCoy and Willie Brown (Cagle) McCoy.

Annie Lou was a tiny force of nature. She was independent, strong willed, persistent, and caring. She weathered many trials throughout her life. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She did everything for family.

Her son Morris had an accident leaving him paralyzed and Annie worked and cared for him throughout the rest of his life. She even changed careers from GE to working as a CNA at Hillview NHC to gain more skills to better care for her son.

Before his accident, Annie and her son shared a passion in raising Boston Terriers. She always had a special love for dogs, especially Spot. Annie is well loved and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Annie is survived by her granddaughters: April (Eric) White and Angela (Joe) Kelley; great-grandchildren: Kaiden White, Rylan White, Dalton Kelley, Maria Morales, Jase Kelley, and Christian Bobo; brother: Curtis (Sue) McCoy; special nieces and nephew: Sandra Brown, Judy Ladd, and Garry McCoy; and friend and neighbor: Alma Norman.

Annie is preceded in death by her husband: John L. Edmiston; son: Morris Edmiston; siblings: Charles McCoy, Catherine Bradley, Earl David McCoy, Jr., Willie Mae Allen, William McCoy, Howard Jackson McCoy, and Lois Irene McCoy; and Annie and Morris’s favorite Boston Terriers Butch and Rug.

The family will receive friends from12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia, TN. Services for Annie will begin immediately following visitation at 2:00 p.m. with Bro. Danny Grooms officiating. Burial will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens in Columbia, TN.
