Barnie L. McDonald Ill passed away on July 14, 2024, in Nashville, TN from complications with cancer.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Della S. McDonald; and stepdaughter, Diane Scales; brother, C. Clark McDonald (Darlene) of Johns Creek, GA; sister, Anne McDonald Osborne (Brad) of Birmingham, AL; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. and Mrs. Barnie L. McDonald, Jr. of Knoxville.
Barnie was born on Sept. 21, 1946, in Knoxville, TN.
He was a graduate of the University of Tennessee. Most of his career involved work with real estate. He had held a Tennessee Real Estate license since 1969. Barnie was also a licensed Tennessee General Appraiser for over 30 years.
The majority of his career was working with the US Corps of Engineers. He rose to the position of Chief Appraiser of the Corps, Mississippi Valley Division. Barnie also worked as Assistant Chief Appraiser of the National Park Service, Washington, DC.
Barnie was a member of several professional organizations holding designations to include the GRI from the Tennessee Association of Realtors, SR/WA from the International Right-of-Way Association as well as an IFAS from the American Society of Appraisers.
Graveside services for Barnie will be held on August 24, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the Nolensville Cemetery in Nolensville TN., as well as a graveside service on September 28, 2024, at Lynnhurst Cemetery in Knoxville at 11:00 a.m. https://www.woodbinefuneralhome.com

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Lake Hills Presbyterian Church in Knoxville.
