Betty Ann McKinzie Andrews, age 75, a resident of Columbia, passed away Friday, December 9, 2022, at her brother’s home in Culleoka.
Born on January 30, 1947, in Columbia, Betty was the daughter of the late Robert Franklin McKinzie and the late Annie Lee Walker McKinzie.
She was a graduate of Columbia Central High School and worked many years as a seamstress for multiple places in Columbia. Loyal to her faith in Christ and her church, Betty was a dedicated member of Faith Pentecostal Church and was a singer and songwriter for the Lord. She was a very giving person and generous to her church and those in need and often enjoyed doing volunteer work for nursing homes.
Betty leaves behind a lifelong friend and fiancé, Larry Heflen.
She is survived by her brother, RM (Jenny) McKinzie of Culleoka, TN, sisters, Mary Ruth McKinzie (Allen) Dean of Oregon, Maxie Hill of Columbia, TN, nieces and nephews, Michael Dean, Bryan Dean, Anna Kapelski, Verna Hutchison, Robert Matthew McKinzie, Nicky McKinzie, Shelby Grooms, Savanna Brown, and many great nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul S. Andrews, sister, Carolyn Kapelski, and nephews, Roy Lee Hill and John Robert Hill.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 13, 2022, at 1:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Pastor Monte McCandless and Pastor Doug McCandless officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held on Monday, December 12, 2022, from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Robert Matthew McKinzie, Nicky McKinzie, Andrew Sisk, Bailey McCandless, Steven Cannady, and Tracy Odom. Honorary pallbearers will include the members of Faith Pentecostal Church.
The family would like to extend a very special thank you to Andrew Tomlin and the doctors, nurses, and staff of Hospice Compassus for their sincere care and compassion for Betty during this difficult time.
