Betty Ferguson, 87, passed away peacefully at her home in Mount Pleasant, Tennessee, on September 14, 2024.

Born on February 12, 1937, in Giles County, Tennessee, she was the cherished daughter of the late Everett Campbell Johnson and Ida Grace Johnson.

Betty devoted herself to caring for others with a heart full of compassion and a spirit of selflessness. She worked several years at Mount Pleasant Elementary School in the cafeteria until she retired. Whether tending to the ill or offering a comforting word, Betty was a beacon of kindness and a true embodiment of service, caring deeply for her siblings, children, and grandchildren, even after retirement.

She poured her love into her home, finding joy in cooking, sewing, and gardening. Her vegetable garden was a great source of pride, as was the delicious food she lovingly prepared for her family.

A long-standing member of Liberty Baptist Church, Betty’s faith was a cornerstone of her life. She was deeply committed to her church family, finding community and fellowship within the congregation.

Betty is survived by her children, Don Ferguson and Kim (Allen) Mosley; her beloved grandchildren, Chance, Wesley, and Addy Mosley; and her siblings, Larry (Faye) Johnson, Mike (Jewell) Johnson, Billy (Doris) Johnson, Linda (Steve) Yant, and Wanda (Buddy) Beaver. several nieces and nephews. She had very special neighbors: Jackie and Dianne Burgett, as well as John Michael Irwin and family.

She is joyously reunited with her late husband, James Ferguson; her daughter, Debora Ferguson; and her siblings, James Everett Johnson, Ann Stewart, and Peggy Workman.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 19, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Williams Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant, Tennessee. A service celebrating Betty’s life will be held on Friday, September 20, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Williams Funeral Home, followed by her interment at Polk Memorial Mausoleum.

Betty’s legacy of love, kindness, and care will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
