Carol Elizabeth Pillow, originally of Columbia, Tennessee, transitioned peacefully on Monday, October 14, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.

Carol was born on February 3, 1947, in Columbia, Tennessee, to the late Gus Dooley and Josephine (Fitzpatrick) Dooley. She was the seventh of nine children, four of whom preceded her in death: Joseph Gus Dooley, Don Dooley Sr., Doris Duke, and Robert Dooley. Carol graduated from Carver Smith High School in Columbia, Tennessee.

Carol married the late Albert Lee Pillow, and from this union, three children were born. She dedicated her life to Christ at a young age and was a member of Mt. Vernon Missionary Baptist Church in Columbia before relocating to Michigan with her family over 30 years ago. In Michigan, Carol became a longtime member of People’s Community Baptist Church in Inkster, where she proudly served on the nursing board. She worked as a devoted employee at BASF in Wyandotte, MI, until her retirement and remained in Michigan afterward.

Carol deeply loved her family and adored her grandchildren, often exclaiming, “I love all of my grandchildren!” She was a loving wife, a dedicated employee, and a generous friend, cherished by many. Her presence will be truly missed by her family and friends.

Carol is survived by her four sisters, Elaine (Nathinel) Dawson of Smyrna, TN; Lillian Brown of Lithonia, GA; Gail Wilkes of Charlotte, NC; and Katherine Harlan of Woodbridge, VA. She also leaves behind her three beloved children, Andrea LaShun Pillow, Kimberly Nicole Pillow, and LaToya Renee Pillow, and seven grandchildren: Amaya Pillow, Jaylen Watson, Kyra Woods, Jayda Watson, Janaya Watson, Wesley Hazel, and Bryson Barnett, along with a host of nieces and nephews.

Her warmth, faith, and kindness will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
