Charse Ann Daniel Matthews, 75, resident of Columbia, passed away Monday, January 8, 2024 at Maury Regional Medical Center.
Born in Ft. Payne, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late Charles Taylor Daniel and the late Lila Hairel Daniel.
Mrs. Matthews was married to Robert Earl Matthews, who preceded her in death. She enjoyed collecting dolls, and loved all animals. Cats were her favorite, especially her cat, Shana. Mrs. Matthews loved her family, and her greatest joy was spending time with her children and her grandchildren. She was a member of Sharps Corner Church of Christ.
Mrs. Matthews is survived by her sons Carlton (Lisa) Wilson of Summertown, Jimmy Wilson of Columbia; brothers, Raymond (Pamila) Daniel of Columbia, and Freddie Daniel of Columbia; sisters, Julie “Judy” (Chuck) VanZandt of Columbia, Christine (Eddie) Sparkman of Columbia, Bell Marie (Ronnie) Fitzgerald of Columbia, and Rita Faye Mosley of Columbia; grandchildren, Matthew Wilson, Christopher Savage Wilson, Steven Wilson, and Willa Wilson; and several great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews and special friend, Jan Moody.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Hala Mae King; and brother, Leon Daniel.
A graveside service will be conducted Thursday, January 11, 2024 at 10:30 A.M. at Rose Hill Cemetery. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com.
Active pallbearers will be Carlton Wilson, Christopher Savage Wilson, Anthony Savage, Gary Savage, Raymond Daniel, and Eddie Sparkman.
