Cheri Lynn Harris Rankin a resident of Columbia, TN passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home surrounded by family Tuesday, September 14, 2021.
The family will visit with friends Friday from 11:30 A.M. – 1:30 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. Direct burial will be held in Maury Memorial Gardens.

She was the daughter of Betty L. Harris and the late Armond E. Harris. Cheri grew up in a military family moving from one Country to another while settling down in Columbia, TN.
Cheri enjoyed decorating, studying her Bible, being outdoors, gardening, walking, shopping, competitive dancing, traveling, riding horses, and wearing cowboy hats. She loved spending time with her loving daughter, Cynthia Taylor Dobbins, and of course her pride and joy, granddaughter, Paisley Shayne Dobbins, including her son-in-law, Patrick Dobbins. They spent many hours playing outside enjoying nature, reading, gardening, going to ball games, and loving on their dogs and cats.
Cheri graduated from Bradshaw High School in Florence, Alabama. She graduated Nursing School from Dyersburg State Community College in Dyersburg, TN with honors. Cheri was an RN and worked 30 plus years in the medical field at hospitals and doctor’s offices in the middle Tennessee area.
Cheri is survived by her mother, Betty L. Harris; daughter, Taylor Dobbins; son-in-law, Patrick Dobbins; granddaughter, Paisley Dobbins; sister, Cynthia L. Rial; brother-in-law, Charlie Rial; brother, Armond E. Harris; sister-in-law, Deb Harris; nieces and nephews, Brandee and Derek Ransom, Brook and David Prentice, Anthony Rial, Allison, and Jeremy Montgomery, Bert Harris, and Nicholas Harris; great-nieces and nephews, Lakelin Prentice, Anderson Porter, Tre Davidson, Treyston Hood, Landon Prentice, Canton Grace Prentice, Knox Ransom, Beckett Ranson, and Ambre Montgomery.
