Cheryl Lynn Powell Church, 71, retired Clerk & Master for Maury County, and resident of Columbia, passed away Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at Maury Regional Medical Center.
Born May 19, 1953 in Bloomington, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late James Franklin Powell and the late JoAnne Robinson Powell.
In 1973 she married Terry Leon Church, who preceded her in death in 2020. Mrs. Church worked in the Chancery Court of Maury County, then later served as the Clerk & Master until her retirement. She loved her family, her Church, and spoiling her grandchildren. She was a member of Riverside United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Michelle Leonard of Columbia; grandchildren, Chelsea Leonard, Ashley Leonard, and Jonathan Leonard, all of Columbia; brothers, Kelly (Norma) Powell of Columbia, and Scott (Mary) Powell of Murfreesboro; and several beloved nieces and nephews.
A Memorial service will be conducted Saturday, August 17, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Riverside United Methodist Church with Rev. Tony Brown officiating. The family will visit with friends on Saturday, August 17, 2024 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Riverside United Methodist Church.
