Mrs. Christine Byrd Luckett, age 104, resident of Columbia, Tennessee passed away on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at her home.
Christine was a Maury County native and was one of seven children born to the late Tommie Byrd and Lessie Alexander.
Earlier in life she worked as a pressor and button machine operator at Dixie Manufacturing Company and then as a fulltime mother and homemaker. She was a member of Jackson Heights Church of Christ in Columbia.
In Christine’s free time, she enjoyed arts and crafts, making quilts and sewing. She was known for making nightlights as a hobby in the last few years. Anyone that came to visit her often left with one of these as a memento. She has touched so many lives and shared so many of her homemade treasures in her lifetime.
She was the wife of Mr. Elton Luckett for 31 years.
Her legacy is left behind by her daughter: Brenda Brown (Darrell) of Columbia, Tennessee; 8 grandsons: Mark Serafin, Mike Serafin, Paul Serafin, Richard Serafin (Joan) of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Ed Warner (Jamie) and Scott Warner (Dawn) of Nashville, Tennessee and Matthew Brown of Columbia, Tennessee and Kyle Brown of Knoxville, Tennessee; 9 greatgrandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Elton Luckett; children: Tony Luckett, Betty Sue Warner, and Wilma Serafin; siblings: Adele Byrd, Lillie Byrd Puckett, Louisa Byrd Kelley, Thelton Byrd, William T. Byrd and Mildred Zeber.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 from 11 am to 1 pm at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia, Tennessee with the service following. Christine will be laid to rest at Rose Hill Cemetery.
