Clifford Eugene Johnson, Jr., 72, employee of Kemper Insurance in Jackson, Tennessee, passed away Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at the residence of his daughter, Regan (Brian) Hartley.

Born July 14, 1951 in Shelby County, he was the son of the late Clifford Eugene Johnson, Sr. and the late Dorothy Derryberry Johnson.

He was a 1969 graduate of Columbia Central High School. Mr. Johnson served in the Tennessee National Guard. He enjoyed collecting farm equipment, and attending auctions.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra Kay Barnes Johnson; sisters, Diane (David) White, Rosemary (Joe) Macer, Tammy Johnson; children, Jeanna Frommel, Regan (Brian) Hartley, Christopher Johnson; honorary child, Kassidy Woods; grandchildren, Hunter Dendy Johnson, Seth Charles Frommel, Luke Oliver, Adeline Oliver, Kenady Johnson, Krislin Johnson; honorary grandchild, Elena Middleton; several nieces and nephews; and cat, Merv.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Nolan and Willie Johnson and Frank and Virginia Derryberry.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday at 3:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Joe Macer and Jeanna Johnson Frommel officiating. Burial will follow in Jones Cemetery. The family visited with friends Friday from 4:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Honorary pallbearers include Adeline Oliver, Kenady Johnson, Krislin Johnson, Ken Vickner, Danny Douglas, and employees of the Jackson, Kemper Insurance office.
