Mr. David Wells Scheide, 78, a resident of Sowell Mill Pike, died Friday, October 29, 2021 at Maury Regional Medical Center.
A memorial service for Mr. Scheide will be conducted Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at Rock Springs Baptist Church. Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com.
Born October 10, 1943 in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the son of the late Melvin Scheide and the late Virginia Reed Gibson. He was married to Sherry Riddle Scheide who preceded him in death on January 28, 2016. Mr. Scheide was a former electrician at Union Carbide. He enjoyed boating and could fix just about anything & loved tinkering on things. Mr. Scheide attended Rock Springs Baptist Church.
He is survived by his son, John, and wife Deborah Scheide of Falling Waters, West Virginia; grandchildren, Jacob Scheide, Timothy Scheide, and Elizabeth Divel; step-children, Katherine Bird of London, England and Daniel Jordan of Murfreesboro; brothers, Edward Gibson and Steven Scheide; sisters, Karen Shefenacker and Susan Howells; mother-in-law, Burt Riddle; sisters-in-law, Brenda Smith, and Dee Hoover; and brother-in-law, Ken Riddle. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Ryan Scheide.
