Donnie Wright Thomason Obit

Donnie Wright Thomason, age 70, a resident of Ethridge and formerly of Columbia, passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at Maury Regional Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 18, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Keith Baker and Rick Points officiating. Following the service, he will be laid to rest in Maury Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held on Sunday, November 17, from 3:00 – 5:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on December 31, 1953, in Maury County, Tennessee, Donnie was the son of the late John Franklin Thomason and the late Doris Marie Fry Thomason.

Donnie had a passion for woodworking and spent countless hours refurnishing furniture. He loved attending auctions, where he often discovered treasures to add to his cherished collections of coins and knives. Gardening and lawn care brought him much happiness, and he took great pride in maintaining his outdoor spaces. Donnie devoted many years of his career to sales with Keith Baker Homes. Above all, Donnie’s greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren, who were the light of his life. His love for them and his family was evident in every moment he shared with them. Donnie will be missed greatly by all that knew and loved him.

Donnie is survived by his wife, Pam Hayes Thomason of Ethridge; daughters, Glenda Thomason of Mt. Pleasant, Samantha (David) Howell “Sonny Boy” of Lawrenceburg and Erica (Robbie) Gill of Roan Mountain, Tennessee; brother, Larry (Shirley) Thomason of Lynnville; grandchildren, Carleigh Thomason, Donnie Ray Howell, Samuel Howell, Chantel Prince, Danielle Thornsberry, Ashlynn Staggs, Brianna Moyer; great grandchild, Amelia Staggs; several nieces and nephews; and his little dog, Chaco.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jimmy Ray Thomason and son, Adam Moyer.

Those serving as pallbearers will be Donnie Ray Howell, David Howell “Sonny Boy”, Rickey Haskins, Josh “Red” Haskins, Mike Thomason, John Thomason and Brent Thomason. Honorary pallbearers will be former employees of Keith Baker Homes. The family wishes to extend special thanks to the ICU staff at Maury Regional Medical Center for the care and compassion shown to Donnie.
