Dorethia Holtsford Dugger, 74, retired drafting clerk for Bell South Communication and resident of Snow Creek Farms in Santa Fe for 50 years, died Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at NHC Maury Regional Transitional Care.

Born October 18, 1947 in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of the late Troy D. Holtsford and the late Dorothy Morgan Holtsford.

She was a 1965 graduate of Butler High School in Huntsville, Alabama. Mrs. Dugger enjoyed farming, horses, cattle, flowers, going to the Tennessee River, and was an accomplished artist. She was a member of West 7th Street Church of Christ, Telephone Pioneers of America, Tennessee Cattleman’s Association, and American Quarter Horse Association.

Survivors include her husband of 58 years, whom she married June 22, 1964, Paul E. Dugger, Jr. of Santa Fe; daughter, Dawn Fralix of Weakley County; grandson, Garrett Fralix of Weakley County; brother-in-law, Jim Cothron, Sr. of Columbia; nephews, Scott (Heather) Lassiter of Corinth, Mississippi; Jim (Lori) Cothron, Lon (Pamela) Cothron, Tom (Melinda) Cothron, Sean (Brandi) Cothron; many great and great-great nieces and nephews; beloved dog, Otie; and beloved horse, J.J.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Brenda Mayberry; brother, Danny (Barbara) Holtsford; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Willie Cathey Dugger and Paul E. Dugger, Sr.; and sister-in-law, Susan Dugger Cothron.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, May 21, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Bill Lambert and William Bonee officiating. Burial will follow in Neapolis Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Friday, May 20, 2022 from 4:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Active pallbearers will be Jim Cothron, Lon Cothron, Tom Cothron, Sean Cothron, Scott Lassiter, R.J. Toler, and Boyd Woolard. Honorary pallbearers include employees of Bell South Communication, members of the Telephone Pioneers of America, and all of her loving friends in Santa Fe.
