Dreatha Ann Vandiver, age 88, a resident of Culleoka, Tennessee, passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2025, at her granddaughter’s residence surrounded by her loving family.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 3, 2025, at 12:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Randy Kersey officiating. Following the service, she will be laid to rest in Cedar Hills Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Sunday, February 2, 2025, from 3:00 – 7:00 PM and again on Monday from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM at the funeral home.
Born on October 20, 1936, in Bakersville, Tennessee, Dreatha was the daughter of the late Earnest D. Duncan and the late Fannie Mai Wofford Duncan. She dedicated thirty-four years in Nursing Administration at Maury Regional Medical Center, where she was deeply dedicated to her job and cherished the friendships she built with her colleagues. She took great pride in her work and truly loved being part of the hospital community. A longtime, devoted member of Scribner’s Mill Church of Christ, she found joy in the outdoors, attending bluegrass festivals, traveling, camping, and being near the water, especially while fishing. She was a talented cook, best known for her delicious desserts, and had a special love for holiday celebrations and collecting lighthouses. Above all, she cherished the time spent with her family.
She is survived by her sons, Dwight (Bridget) Vandiver of Culleoka, TN, William Vandiver of Nashville, TN, daughter, Beth (Billy) Hollis of Mt. Pleasant, TN, grandchildren, Jennifer (Andy) Roberson, Casey (Michael) Roberts, Scott (Alicia) Vandiver, Michael (Anna) Roberson, Miki (Darren) Culp, great grandchildren, Niki (Katie), Tyler, Alexis, Austin, Lucas, Amelia, Olivia, Avelyn, Collin, Jake, Haley, Jordan, great great grandchildren, Sophia, Landan, Kendall, Landen, Everly, Anders, Remi, Rhone, a very special friends, Rod Houchins and Charles Scarborough, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Vandiver, sister, Martha Weatherly, and grandchildren, Melanie Hollis and Meg Hollis.
Those proudly serving as pallbearers will be Tyler Lee, Scott Vandiver, Michael Roberts, Mark Pledge, James Vandiver, and Wayne Dean.
The family wishes to extend a very special thank you to Dr. Ben Gardner and the staff of Hospice Compassus for their care and compassion for Mrs. Vandiver during this difficult time.
