Drew Michael Robinson, age 38, a resident of Murfreesboro, previously of Columbia, passed away Friday, June 23, 2023, at St. Thomas Rutherford.

Born on August 30, 1984, in Peoria, Illinois, Drew was the son of Stephen and Sandra Cook Robinson. He was a 2003 graduate of Columbia Central High School and attended Middle Tennessee State University.

Drew had a passion for music and was an avid guitar player. At Columbia Central High School, he played the bass clarinet with the marching band and had the honor of being a part of the group that won Contest of Champions at MTSU in 2001. He had such fond memories of his work at Hewgley’s Music Shop, and they were a big part of his music growth.

Drew had a strong connection with autistic and disabled children and loved working for King’s Daughters for a time. In recent years, he worked for Ryder as a forklift driver. In addition to being a Chicago Bears and Cubs fan, during his free time he enjoyed playing video games with friends, spending time with his fiancé, Kristen and their cats, Jinx and Romeo, and reading Stephen King and Jeff Long sci-fi novels.

He was just beginning to appreciate golfing with his dad and mom and had developed a pretty mean drive. Family played a very big part in Drew’s life and he will be missed by those that knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his fiancé, Kristen LaFreniere, sister, Christina Christenberry, aunts, Kelly Godbey (Mark), Sean Schimmelfphennig (Don), Jodi Soler (Edgar), Dani Cook (Suzie), Dawn Crain (Tim), and uncles, Ben Robinson (Brenda), Scott Robinson, Brad Cook (Suzanne), Thad Cook, and Brian Cook (Sarah). Drew had numerous cousins, second cousins, nieces, nephews, and great-nephews, as well.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Sondra Minton, paternal grandmother, Ann Robinson, paternal grandfather, Marvin Robinson, maternal grandfather, Robert Cook, maternal grandmother, Kay (Cissi) Cook, and aunt, Amy Thomas.

A celebration of life service will be held at St. Catherine Catholic Church Social Hall in Columbia on Saturday, October 21, 2023, from 12:00 – 4:00 PM.
