Edith Virginia Beard White, 77, former Secretary for Highland Church of Christ and former employee of Sears, died Saturday, May 7, 2022 at her residence in Columbia.
Born December 26, 1944 in Maury County, she was the daughter of the late Edgar Walker Beard and the late Ara Adell Kelley Beard.
A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, she was known as MiMi to everyone she met. Mrs. White was a member of Highland Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband, whom she married June 1, 1963 and would have celebrated 59 years, L.G. White of Columbia; daughter, Julie (Brad) Amstutz of Clarksville; son, Landon (Megan) White of Columbia; sister, Willie Mae Goodman of Santa Fe; brothers, Michael (Patricia) Beard of Columbia; Billy (Emily) Beard of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren, Christopher Blake Williams, Rachel (Adan) Sanches, Madison Amstutz, Lucas Amstutz, Cameron White, Noah White, Aubrey Lynn White; and great-grandchildren, Bobby Williams, and Grayson Sanches.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Chris White; daughter, Angel Lauren White; brothers, Charles Beard, James Beard; sister, Audrey Hood; and brothers-in-law, Freddie Goodman, and Robert Carroll Hood.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 11:00 A.M. at Highland Church of Christ with David Morris, Barry Throneberry, and her son, Landon White officiating. Burial will follow in Potts Cemetery in the Santa Fe Community. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 4:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home and Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until service time at the church.
