Franklin Delano Cooper

Franklin Delano Cooper, age 86, resident of Williamsport, passed away on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at Maury Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 20th at 2:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Pastor Linda Hopkins officiating. Burial will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends on Saturday from 11:00 AM until the 2:00 PM service hour. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Franklin was born July 22, 1935 and was the son of the late Walter Cooper and the late Mary Pearle Johnson Cooper. He was a member of Williamsport Methodist Church. He worked for and was a very dedicated employee at the City of Columbia for many years. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and musical entertainment. He had a lot of friends and loved to go on mule rides. He attended mule pullings and up until two years ago he had mules of his own. He attended every Mule Day except one.

He is survived by his earthly angel, April Wall (Freddy Shipp) of Williamsport; brother, James Cooper of Indianapolis, IN; caregiver, John Mooreland; special friend, Lena Carter; nephew, Craig Cooper; nieces, Jodessa Cooper, Vanessa Cooper, and Tanisha Cooper; cousins, George (Nadine) Jackson of Columbus, GA; and a host of friends and family.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Cordell Cooper, Joe Cooper, and John Cooper; and a cousin that was like a brother, James Jackson.

Pallbearers will be Nate Hill, Mike Shipp, Howard Shipp, Craig Cooper, Wayne Smith, and Jessie Booker. Honorary pallbearers will be all the past and present employees of the City of Columbia and the employees of Maury Regional Transitional Care Center.
