Mrs. Frieda Nathelda Burchfield, age 90, a resident of Columbia, passed away Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at Life Care Center of Columbia.
A private funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at Heritage Funeral Home, with Rev. Michael Williams officiating. A private burial will follow in Maury Memorial Gardens. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born on July 29, 1935 in Henderson, Kentucky, Frieda was the daughter of the late Herbert Hatfield and the late Harpie Puckett Hatfield. Frieda had a strong faith in the Lord and was a member of The Pentecostals of Apopka Church in Apopka, Florida. She enjoyed being a member of the Ladies Prayer Group at church, took pride in being a homemaker, and spending time with her family. She was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, she will be tremendously missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her son, Tim (Darlene) Burchfield, daughter, Rhonda Jones, sister, Ramona Stratford, eight grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Burchfield, son, Jack Wayne Burchfield, brothers, James Hatfield, Joseph Hatfield, and sisters, Ruth Nobles, and Iris Hopson.
