Donald “Gene” McDaniel, age 73, passed away Tuesday, November 9th, 2021 in Columbia, Tennessee.
Gene was born October 28th, 1948 to the late Teresa Grimes in Apison, Tennessee.
Many knew Gene as a very kind person. He was very neighborly, could strike up a conversation or lend a helping hand to anyone passing by. He enjoyed woodworking and puzzles, anything to keep challenging his mind. He even made a table for his wife. Gene adored his wife, family, and his furry sidekick, Rusty, and always let them know they were always appreciated. He will be so greatly missed by all who knew him.
The family will receive friends and family Saturday, November 13th, 2021 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, with a funeral service following at 2:00 PM at Williams Funeral Home with Pastor Jason Caddy officiating. Burial will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens.

Gene is survived by his loving wife, Darlene; daughter: Caitlin (Ted) Akins; sons: James (Keren) Griffith, Chris Griffith, and Steven Griffith; and grandchildren: Elliana Akins, Destiney, and Sarah Griffith, Gavin Lovett, Dallas Griffith, and Denver Griffith.
