Geraldine “Gerry” Lovell Cannady passed away on January 8th, 2026, at the age of 94.

A graveside Service will be held at 12:00 PM on January 17th, 2026, with Andrew Phillips officiating at Polk Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends on Saturday, January 17, 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:45 AM at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia, Tennessee. Her burial will be at Polk Memorial Gardens in Columbia, Tennessee.

Born September 29th, 1931, in Giles County, Tennessee. She was the daughter of the late Milburn & Jewell Lovell of Lynnville, Tennessee. She was also a 1950 graduate of Central High School in Columbia, Tennessee. She was also a member of Sherwood Baptist Church in Huntsville, Alabama.

Following her husband’s military career, she worked 20 years as a secretary/steno at Fuchu Air Base in Japan, Little Rock Air Force Base, Keesler Air Force Base, Biloxi MS, retiring in 1982.

After retirement she served with the Red Cross and hospitals as a volunteer. She enjoyed art projects, tending to her flowers, and watching the birds.

She is preceded in death by her husband Alton D. Cannady, her son Michael Cannady, her granddaughter Caitlin Vial and her brothers J.C., Edwin, and Wayne Lovell.

Survivors are her three daughters, Karen Howell of Lucedale, MS; Danita Nichols (George) of Sweetwater, TN; Tina Parker of Gulfport, MS; her son Jeffrey (Charlene) Cannady of Montgomery, AL; her daughter-in-law Cathy Cannady of Hoover, AL; 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, one niece and four nephews.
