Glenda Evelyn Goodman, age 83, of Hohenwald, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, April 21, 2025. She was born in Hohenwald on November 30, 1941, to the late Glenn Prince and Georgia Dyer Prince. She was the widow of Dempsey Goodman, and together they shared a strong and loving marriage built on faith, family, and service.
Glenda and Dempsey were especially proud to sponsor second-grade classes at Lewis County Elementary School, forming special connections with students and teachers over the years. Glenda was a lifelong member of the Hohenwald Church of Christ, where she found fellowship and strength in her faith. She was also a member of the American Legion.
She enjoyed a wide variety of hobbies throughout her life. Glenda loved to crochet and often shared handmade gifts with those she cared about. She was an avid reader and enjoyed relaxing with a good book. Her love for travel and camping created many cherished memories with her family, who meant the world to her. Glenda especially treasured time spent with her children and grandchildren, always showing them unconditional love and support. She was also a lifelong fan of Elvis Presley.
Mrs. Goodman is survived by her daughters Debbie (Al) Mitchell, Roxanne (Tommy) Cagle, Susan (Randy) Holden & Starla (Brian) Holden, 7 Grandchildren Jennifer Cater, Courtney Mitchell, Daniel Graves, Layla Graves, Jaxon Cagle, Janie Myran & Jeremy Goodman, 5 Great Grandchildren and 1st cousin who was like a brother to her Billy (Paula) Dyer. She is preceded in death by her parents, Glenn & Georgia Prince, husband Dempsey Goodman, and brother Danny Prince.
Visitation with the family will be held on Wednesday, April 23, from 4:30 PM to 7:00 PM at McDonald Funeral Home in Hohenwald, TN. Funeral Services will be conducted on Thursday, April 24, beginning at 11:00 AM at McDonald Funeral Home in Hohenwald, TN, with Bro. Rick Jones officiating. Burial will immediately follow in the Swiss Cemetery. McDonald Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Goodman family.
