Glenda Kay Roberts Roach, a beloved member of our community and a dedicated nurse, passed away on October 21, 2023, in her home surrounded by family in Columbia, Tennessee, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and compassion.

She was born on December 23, 1940, in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, to her parents, the late William Horace Roberts and Mildred Louise Grinnell.

Glenda’s life was defined by a long and distinguished nursing career that touched the lives of countless individuals. Her dedication and compassion as a nurse spanned the realms of home health, oncology, and labor & delivery. For many years, she also served as a school nurse for Maury County Schools, caring for the health and well-being of the young students under her watchful eye.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Glenda was known for her vivacious sense of humor and the warmth she radiated to all who crossed her path. Her laughter was infectious, and her kindness was boundless. She had an innate ability to make people feel seen, valued, and loved.

In addition to her parents, Glenda is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard Gregory Roach, Sr., and their infant son, David Michael Roach.

Glenda’s memory will forever be cherished by her loving children: Richard Gregory (Elvia Espinal) Roach, Jr, Douglas Roberts Roach, and Lisa Roach (Darryl) Hulen. Her legacy continues through her eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, all of whom were fortunate to have her as a guiding light in their lives. Glenda is also survived by her siblings, Nelda Roberts Shields, Betty Jo Roberts, and Jimmy Horace Roberts, as well as several nephews who held a special place in her heart.

To honor and celebrate Glenda’s remarkable life, a Celebration of Life memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia.

Glenda Kay Roberts Roach will be deeply missed but will live on in the hearts and memories of all who were privileged to know and love her. Her spirit will continue to inspire and bring warmth to those who were fortunate enough to be a part of her life’s journey.
