Gussie Marie Mister, age 82, a resident of Columbia, Tennessee, formerly of Memphis, Tennessee, passed away on Thursday evening, November 7, 2024, at NHC Columbia.
Born on May 25, 1942, in Memphis, Tennessee, Marie was the daughter of the late Henry Ford and the late Mackie Gillum Williams.
She worked for the Shelby County Government as a Corrections Officer before retiring. She was a Christian and member of Overcomers Outreach Ministries Church. Marie was also a member of the National Association of Female Executives (N.A.F.E.). She was in partnership with Creflo Dollar Ministries of College Park, Georgia, Kenneth Copeland Ministries of Fort Worth, Texas, Ever Increasing Faith Ministries of Los Angeles, California, and the World Harvest Church of Columbus, Ohio. She was a graduate of the World Harvest Bible College External Studies Program.
She is survived by her sister, Patricia Ford and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Mister, brothers, Theodore Ford, George Ford, Elton Ford, Ernest Ford, and sisters, Dorothy Hurt and Toni Blanchard.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 17, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home. Following the service she will be laid to rest in Maury Memorial Gardens. A visitation will also be held on Sunday from 1:00 – 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. https://www.tnfunerals.com
