Harry Buford Dunavant, 84, of Columbia, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at his home on March 22, 2025. He was born on February 13, 1941, in Mount Pleasant, Tennessee, to the late Buford Dunavant and Coleah Dunavant Henson.
Harry was a hardworking man who owned and operated his own body shop for over 50 years. He had a love for collecting coins and cars, and he never turned down a good cup of coffee. Above all, Harry had a strong and steady faith in God that guided him throughout his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Joann Wallace and Linda Dixon.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 63 years, Lillian Ruth Dunavant; his children, Richard Dunavant, Tracy (Jessica) Dunavant, and Suzette (Steve) Walker; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and his sisters, Barbara Nicholson and Sherry Bowman.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, March 28, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Polk Memorial Gardens in Columbia, Tennessee.
Harry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He will be remembered for his kind heart, steady presence, and the love he shared with those around him.
