Henrietta Smith Dooley, 89, former owner and operator of Henri’s on the Square, and resident of Columbia, TN, passed away Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at NHC Columbia.
Born December 29, 1934 in Minor Hill, TN, she was the daughter of the late Porter Smith and the late Orleane Rogers Smith.
On October 20, 1972 she married Larry Irvin Dooley. Together they opened and operated Henri’s on the Square, and then afterward, Dooley’s Deli. Mrs. Dooley enjoyed knitting, sewing, crafts, and football. She loved being around people, taking care of her friends and family, and throwing parties for them. She was a member of Graymere Church of Christ.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Brad (Laura Beth) Dooley of Nolensville; grandchildren, William Dooley, Jackson Dooley, and Avery Dooley; nephews, T.K. Smith, Kenny Smith, Kirk Smith; and nieces Carla Robins and Ashley Smith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Carl Smith; and a niece, Kim Smith.
A Memorial service will be conducted Friday, August 23, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Graymere Church of Christ with John Thomas officiating. The family will visit with friends Friday, August 23, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Graymere Church of Christ.
