Irma-Whitehead-Sealey

Irma Whitehead Sealey, a woman of love and kindness, passed away on October 14, 2025, in Columbia, TN. Born on May 11, 1958, in Hohenwald, TN, to the late Willie and Ava Jean Whitehead, Irma’s life was one of enduring power of affection and care for one’s family.

Irma, a devoted homemaker, dedicated her life to creating a warm and welcoming home for her husband, Jack Sealey, and their children. She was a mother not only to her daughter, Brittany Sealey Armstrong, but also a loving stepmother to Deb Victory, Floyd Sealey, and Chris Sheets. Her siblings, Margaret Whitehead, Doris Brewer, and Tony Whitehead, will remember her as a sister who always extended her support and love.

Her grandchildren, Dixie Armstrong, Josh Sealey, Jacob Sealey, Nick Parton, Tyler Parton, Alison Victory, Shonda Gordon, and Rook Lawson, were the light of her life. She cherished every moment spent with them and was deeply saddened by the loss of her grandson, Brad Lawson. Her six great-grandchildren brought joy to her later years, and she took every opportunity to spoil them with love.

Irma’s interests were a true reflection of her personality. She found peace in simple things like shopping, cooking, and spending time with her family. Her love for classic Westerns like Gun Smoke and Bonanza often brought the family together in front of the television for shared moments of entertainment and laughter. As a devoted mother, Irma’s world revolved around her children and grandbabies, and her absence will leave a void in the many lives she touched.

Those who knew Irma would describe her as loving and kind. She was a person who always put the needs of others before her own, and her generosity knew no bounds. Irma’s presence was a comforting reminder of the goodness in the world, and her memory will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.
