James Charles Mitchell, age 74, of Columbia, TN, formerly of Robertson County, passed away Saturday, October 26, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family.
Mr. Mitchell was born August 13, 1950, in Springfield, to the late James Henry Mitchell and the late Elizabeth Cathleen Grant Mitchell.
He was a member of the UAW and was a Journeyman in the automotive manufacturing industry most of his life.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Mitchell was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Myla Mitchell.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, June Mitchell; 3 children, daughter, Angie Mitchell Ciesielczyk and her husband Mike, sons, Jimmy “J.C.” Mitchell, and Jamie Mitchell and his wife Angie; 6 grandchildren, Matt Ciesielczyk, Alicia (Drew) Meeker, Katherine (Colton) Darter, Makenzie (DonDon) Mitchell, Madison Mitchell, and Crosby Mitchell; 7 great-grandchildren, Shaun, Preston, Presleigh, Bo, Elias, Essex, and Aleena; and a sister, Sue (Danny) Hines.
As per Mr. Mitchell’s wishes, the family held a private, immediate family only graveside service at Bellwood Cemetery.
