Mr. Jimmy “Jim” Rich, age 75, a resident of Columbia, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at his residence.
Born on November 15, 1948, in Fentress County, Tennessee, Jim was the son of the late Henry Rich and the late Delavine Creselous Rich.
A passionate outdoorsman, he spent a lot of his time fishing, hunting, and collecting arrowheads. Jim also had a love for Westerns. He was known for his kind, servant-hearted nature, never meeting a stranger and cherishing his family deeply. He will be missed by those who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his son, Josh Ayers (Charlie King), brother, Gene (Nellie) Rich, sister, Charlene Rudler, Genevee (Royce) Delk, grandson, Robert Ayers, and a host of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Gary Bailey officiating. Following the service, he will be laid to rest in Friendship Cemetery. A visitation will also be held on Wednesday, from 12:00 – 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Joe York, Wayne Harvey, Chad Massengale, Nellie Rich, Pat Rich, and Darin Gibson. Honorary pallbearers will include the members of House of Prayer Baptist Church.
