Johnnie “Beth” Johns, age 92, passed from this life on June 2, 2022, in Columbia, Tennessee.

She was born on March 5, 1930, to her loving parents Johnny and Ima Weatherspoon in Hickman County.

Beth was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She was a faithful longtime member of Hampshire First Baptist church, and she dearly loved her church family.

She was a woman of many talents, but her most valued traits were her delicious cooking and her beautiful garden. Her family will cherish the rich memories of fellowship shared over her hot meals and will continue to bask in the beauty of her flower garden. Among the many things that Beth liked to do, shopping was her favorite. Going to Goodwill and grocery stores were her topmost visited places, she loved the challenge of a good deal. She even earned the nickname “The Coupon Queen of Maury County” and owned it proudly.

In her downtime, she could not keep her hands off of pen and paper. She was very gifted with her words and took the time to write poetry and stories, something that her family will get to look back and read for years to come.

She will be deeply missed by all the lives she touched.

Beth is survived by her daughters: Melba (John) Rogers and Joyce (John) Johnson; sons: Johnny (Doris) Johns, Larry (Cindy) Johns, Danny (Debbie) Johns; three granddaughters: Sarah (Joey) Sims, Michelle (Corey) Epps, Melanie (Richard) Hickman; five grandsons: Mark (Katie) Rogers, Daniel (Erica) Johns, Ben (Caley) Johns, Jason (Jennifer) Johns, Adam Johns; fourteen great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; sisters: Gail Quillen, Wanda (Eugene) McFarlin; sisters-in-law: Linda Orton and Frankie Bostick.

She is preceded in death by her sisters: Jean Quillen, and Winfred Weatherspoon; brother: Thomas Weatherspoon; brothers-in-law: J.B. Quillen, Bobby Quillen; and father of her children: Billie Ray Johns.

A visitation for Beth will be held on Monday, June 6, 2022, at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 PM. Funeral service will commence at 11:00 AM with Dustin Laster officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Garden of Faith at Polk Memorial Gardens.
