Judy Whitley Johnson, 75, retired Laboratory Technician for Maury Regional Medical Center and a long-time resident of Hilltown Road in Santa Fe, passed away Thursday, February 1, 2024, at Maury Regional Medical Center
Born February 17, 1948, in Maury County, she was the daughter of the late James Whitley and the late Velma Foote Whitley.
On July 27, 1990, she married Larry Alexander Johnson who preceded her in death July 23, 2020. She was a graduate of Columbia Central High School. A wonderful singer, Mrs. Johnson sang with the Glasco’s, The Family and Friends Choir, and most recently the Knob Creek Quartet.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Mrs. Johnson always had a smile on her face and was a joy to be around. She was a member of Knob Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include her brother, Eugene (Ann) Whitley; nephews Jeff (Sharon) Whitley, Andy (Melanie) Whitley; great nephews, John Michael Whitley, Andrew Whitley; and special friends, Johnnie Nowlin, Elaine Booker, Glenda Glasco, and Debbie Collins.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, James Whitley, Jr., Harold Whitley; sisters, Jean Pagel, Jane Arnold; infant brother, Robert “Bobby” Whitley; and nephew, Michael Eugene Whitley.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Reverend Stephen McCollum officiating. Burial will follow in Potts Cemetery in the Kinderhook Community of Maury County. The family will visit with friends on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, from 4:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Active pallbearers will be Robert Whitley, Jeff Whitley, Andy Whitley, Andrew Whitley, John Michael Whitley, and C.H. Hutchinson. Honorary pallbearers include members of Knob Creek Baptist Church.
