OBITUARY: Jules “Frenchy” Ferland

Jules “Frenchy” Ferland, age 76, passed away after a brief and unexpected illness on Thursday, December 9th, 2021 in Columbia, Tennessee.

Frenchy was born on August 15th, 1945 to the late Paul Eugene Ferland and Madeleine Rousseau Ferland in Quebec, Canada.

Frenchy was best known locally for his role at Sloan Ford in Columbia, TN as a sales specialist for over twenty-five years. Frenchy immigrated to Tennessee and became an American Citizen in 1986 where he quickly and proudly earned his nickname “Frenchy” from his co-workers, friends, and customers.

Prior to moving to America, Frenchy was a native-born Canadian with many personal and professional accomplishments to include: General Director of the family-owned business, Manoir Cascapedia (Hotel Complex); Vice President of Hotel Manoir Sur Mer (Tourist Complex); President and Co-Owner of Ferland & Pacquet GMC (GM Dealership); and Director of Sales at Boulevard Chevrolet (GM Dealership). Frenchy also served three years in the Canadian Armed Forces before receiving an honorable discharge.
Frenchy truly loved and was proud of his family across two nations. He enjoyed traveling, fishing, golfing, and exercising with his dog, Rocksy.

The family will receive friends and family at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia on Wednesday, December 15th, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 3:00 PM.

In addition to his parents, Frenchy is preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Madeleine, and his stepdaughter, Stacy Skebo.

Frenchy is survived by his loving wife, Addie Ferland; two brothers: Jaques and Paul Ferland; four sisters: Sylvie, José, Edith, and Lyne Ferland; children: Judy Ferland, and Marie Eve Beaulieu; Stepson: Joey (Crystal) Gideon; and grandchildren: Felix Antoine Martel, Élodie Ferland Martel, Cassandre Stafford, Florence Stafford, Tyler (Karigan) Cowan, Donnie Skebo, Dylan Skebo, Samantha Skebo, and Geran (Maddie) Gideon.
