Karen Pierce, age 60, passed away peacefully at her home in Mount Pleasant, Tennessee, on January 18, 2025.
Born on January 14, 1965, in Mount Pleasant, she was the beloved daughter of Ruby Reed Vandiver and the late Charles Vandiver.
Karen was a woman who deeply loved her family and cherished every moment with them. She was a devoted mother, a doting grandmother, and a proud great-grandmother, earning the title of “best Nana” from her adoring grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Karen’s zest for life was evident in her favorite pastimes. She loved shopping at yard sales, finding treasures that brought joy to her and those she loved. She had a passion for traveling, with the beach being her favorite destination, and she participated in numerous dart tournaments, where her competitive spirit shone.
Karen also had a special fondness for owls and flamingos, which adorned her home and brought her happiness.
Karen is survived by her loving daughter, Angelena Bree (Daniel) Reece; her grandchildren, Nikki (William) Kittrell, Lizzi Vandiver, Leiah Reece, Marissa Reece, and Mason Allen; and her great-grandchildren, Ella Harris, Beckett Kittrell, Baylor Woodard, and Emery Hardison.
She is also survived by her mother, Ruby Vandiver; her brother, Philip (Debbie) Vandiver; her nieces and nephews, Ashley (Brandon) Finley and Justin (Tiffany) Vandiver; and her great-nieces and great-nephews, Makayla, Sutton, Weston, Anniston, and Emerson.
Karen was blessed with a large extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins, as well as cherished best friends, Regina and Bobby Gray, and Tina Jones.
Karen was preceded in death by her beloved son, Anthony Allen, and her father, Charles Vandiver.
Karen’s warmth, love, and kindness will be missed by all who knew her.
A celebration of her life will be held on February 1st at 1:00 PM at Summertown Community Church, 189 Caldwell Rd, Summertown, TN 38483, to honor her memory and the love she shared with everyone around her.
