Kevin Duane “Doc” Boyd, age 55, husband of Terri Baker Boyd, and a resident of Columbia, passed away on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at Maury Regional Medical Center.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at 6:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Roberts officiating. A visitation will also be held on Tuesday from 4:00 – 6:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born on May 15, 1970, in Maury County, Kevin was the son of Donnie Boyd and the late Carol McVicker Boyd. He was a graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School and attended The College of Applied Technology in Pulaski for nursing. Kevin dedicated his life to caring for others through his work as a nurse at NHC Columbia and currently worked at Apex Recovery. He served with both the Maury and Williamson County Sherriff’s Departments. During his time at Maury County, the inmates nicknamed him “Pills on Wheels.”
Outside of work, Kevin enjoyed many passions. He and Terri once loved riding their motorcycles together. He also had a creative spirit—expressed through his artistic talent—and found great joy in golfing. He had a special love for his beloved German Shepard, Valor. Above all, Kevin treasured time spent with his family. He was a member of Parkway Baptist Church.
In addition to his father and the love of his life for twenty-five years, Terri, he is survived by his daughters, Candice Boyd of Santa Fe, Haley Boyd of Lawrenceburg, Hannah Boyd of Mt. Pleasant, brother, Breck (Becky) Boyd of Columbia, grandchildren, Treyden Boyd, Coraleigh Foster, Rylen Boyd, and Locklyn Boyd, aunt, Shirl Cube, and several cousins, nieces, and a nephew.
Along with his mother, he was preceded in death by his mother in law, Linda Tomlin, granddaughter, Novalee Patrick, uncles, Charles, David, and William.
