Mr. Lamont Baker, age 70, husband of Virginia Baker, and a resident of Columbia, passed away Sunday, May 15, 2022, at his residence.
Mr. Baker was born on February 28, 1952, in Gainesville, Georgia, and was the son of the late Charles Buddy Baker, Sr., and the late Evelyn Stover Baker.
He was a veteran of the United States Army and married Virginia on June 10, 1977. He worked for thirty years as an automobile mechanic and later worked for Columbia Wastewater before retiring in 2017.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his brother, Charles Buddy (Glenda) Baker, Jr. of Gainesville, Georgia.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepson, John David Taft.
